Full 178 words

Mark Diaco is a Melbourne-based actor, writer, director and illustrator whose work spans twenty-three productions across stage and screen.

He began acting in 2003 and trained in New York at The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute and William Esper Studio before returning to Melbourne, where he co-founded Human Sacrifice Theatre in 2007. HST built a reputation for high-end American drama with True West, Glengarry Glen Ross, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and The Long Red Road. In 2012 he co-founded The KIN Collective alongside Noni Hazlehurst, Marg Downey, Chris Bunworth and Michala Banas, producing The Leenane Trilogy and the original work Glimpse.

In 2013 he founded Corner Piece Pictures, an independent Melbourne production company, writing, directing and starring in Half Way and ClicK. Screen credits include Blood Vessel and Vessel.

Alongside the work, he spent two decades as a nightclub doorman across more than thirty Melbourne venues — the experience behind DOORMAN, his four-part graphic novel, and behind DOOR Global, the consent-native platform for AI art he founded to give artists control over how their work is used.
